Programme set-up and launch

It is critical during the early stages of any change programme to instil the right governance structures and gain senior management sponsorship, build a strong business case, design the best solutions and obtain budget sign-off.

Our Programme Managers will work with you during this phase to make sure that good practice and robust disciplines are put in place from the start. We will ensure that the programme has the right levels of sponsorship, that governance structures have suitable levels of authority and clear accountabilities, and that the programme is clearly aligned with the needs of the business.

We will also ensure the programme is properly resourced to achieve its aims with appropriately skilled resources. Where formal methods and tools are employed by the organisation we will ensure that these are set up correctly.

Programme/Interim management

Maintaining high quality delivery of business as usual service during periods of change can be challenging. Organisations face the choice of diverting resources from critical processes or employing specialist programme resources.

We supply both expert Programme Managers and expert interim managers. Our Programme Managers directly manage your change project, leaving your internal resources free to focus on business as usual delivery. Our interim managers can backfill roles left by resources you have diverted to the programme.

Project rescue

With the best laid plans there can come a point in any project where we have to recognise that it is going wrong.

Our project rescue team will deploy quickly and use its deep understanding of HR transformation programmes to audit your project and accurately diagnose the source of its problems. They immediately stabilise critical applications and processes to limit the risk of damage to the business and work with you to re-scope and re-plan the project, manage stakeholder expectations and obtain appropriate new resources and budget to take the project to successful completion.

Knowledge transfer

Every change project offers enormous opportunities for learning and developing the capability of the employees involved in the change. Developing internal change management capability reduces dependence on external consultants for future projects.

We offer specialist programme management training for your HR managers to enable them to move up the learning curve quickly, with a sound understanding of what they need to be doing and why it matters. This grounds them in good programme management practice and equips them with key programme management tools and techniques. We also provide coaching and learning support to your project team members and advice and guidance to your steering group or project board.

Quality assurance

Sometimes it is hard for project teams to see the wood for the trees and self-assess the quality of their work. This can increase the risk of failure of the project as it progresses. Quality assurance provides an independent point of expertise outside the main delivery team, focused on ensuring the objectives of the project are being fulfilled to a high standard.

We tailor our quality assurance services to the specific needs of your project. At the lightest end, we may simply attend your steering group meetings and provide them with advice on quality matters. Or where it is valuable, we can provide you with a senior resource with long experience of delivering high quality HR transformation projects, to set up and execute a full quality plan for your project.
